Musty smelling clothes?

We have a built in wardrobe that is connected to an outside wall. All the clothes on the rails aren’t too bad but if any are placed in the shelves or cupboards that are part of the wardrobe they STINK musty, damp and occasionally have mould on them! I’ve placed the cheap moisture catchers In there, but I’m thinking of putting all the clothes that can’t be hung in lidded storage boxes and putting them in the wardrobe that way.. would that help?

Maybe you need MarieKondoing your wardrobe

Lack of air circulation around the wardrobe is the cause - there's quite possibly a damp problem with the wall too. Check the gutters and downpipes outside are clear, that the roof is in good nick and the pointing doesn't need attention.
