Bins and laundry baskets, in what rooms?

Do your dc have bins and laundry baskets in their rooms and how often are they meant to tidy their rooms?

Wondering if a pop up laundry basket in their room would be any good?

Mine are YAs but have always had their own laundry baskets and bins in their rooms.

When their laundry basket is full (I have tall ones with lids), I do a wash of that basket ... sort whites and darks and I do the pile that's larger, smalls get tumbled but other than that no sorting.

Find it easier as it totally takes away sorting clothes out for each individual which became such a chore.

I used to have several but now just have one on the landing upstairs for communal use. I also changed to a normal laundry basket so when it is full I just carry it downstairs rather than transferring to a laundry basket.

Yes all three of mine have laundry baskets, I empty them throughout the week. Only the eldest has a bin, he is responsible for emptying it when it's full (although it's usually overflowing before he remembers).

I do the washing split into kids / adults. The DC have two laundry baskets in the bathroom they use - one for whites (school shirts mainly) and one for darks. We had a bathroom cupboard built with the laundry baskets in mind. I had to nag for a while for them to not just leave dirty clothes on their floor, but they're in the habit now. Then we have a double laundry basket in our bedroom. We all have bins, and they bring them down the night before bin collection when we are sorting the recycling, their bins are never full.

Yes, bin in my daughters en suite and she has her own laundry basket and does her own laundry and has done since about 14. She's had her own laundry basket since she was tiny.

My husband and I have one in our bedroom too.

Laundry basket on landing here.

My kids have one each and do their own laundry (from around age 14). Before that they used the hamper on the landing. There was a transition where I did uniform because of the white shirts, and they did leisure clothes.

One in each room and one on the landing for sheets and towels.
