dim question about Tesco home delivery

Tommy · 25/04/2007 18:03

have only had shopping delivered a few times so please excuse my ignorance...

when it says "book a slot" and that you can book it up to 3 weeks in advance, how do you know what food you'll want in 3 weeks time or does it have a facility for amending your order nearer the time?

I couldn't see anything on the website about it.

TIA [smile}

You can amend until the night before I think.

ceolas · 25/04/2007 18:05

You have to put an order through to secure the slot, but you can add to it later.

Why not order basics like loo roll, milk, bread, cereal, etc and then do a proper list nearer the time? Think you can make changes up to 24hrs before. And you don't pay til it actually goes through the checkout.

bobsyouruncle · 25/04/2007 18:06

You can change your order up to the night before your order is due to arrive. You just click on "change order" and then follow the instructions - you have to checkout again & confirm order if I remember rightly.

you can amend your order anytime up to the night before, I often book a slot in advance and just put 3 bottles of gin on the order to save the slot and then go back and amend it as necessary. Haven't managed to forget and just end up with 3 bottles of gin yet

one thing to remember is that you can only add e-coupons or change your credit card on the first checkout though

ceolas · 25/04/2007 18:07

Oh yes, very important advice about the coupons hattie.

And the gin

Tommy · 25/04/2007 18:10

that's great thanks.
I knew I would get an answer quicker fron MN than phoning Tesco! Will deffo get on with it then.

As an aside to this, asda do not offer this sort of thing, which drives us mental, once you've checked out you're buggered.
