Clogged sink after using bicarb and vinegar

I often use bicarb and vinegar to give our plugholes a clean. I used a bit more than usual - large mug of bicarb and litre of vinegar. It looked fine, although the vinegar seemed to drain slowly.

20 minutes later, I have put hot water down there (most of the sink full) but it isn't draining! The plug wasn't even blocked to start with so no idea why this has happened.

What now?

Sink plunger?
Long piece of flexible wire to thread down?
Caustic soda?

Oops I left it a while and it finally drained (must have dissolved). Thanks for suggestions!

So now refill the sink with hot water, then pull the plug again and see if it now flushes through. Use rubber gloves or the chain on the plug if it has one so you don't scold yourself.
