Bedbugs??!!

I'm pretty panicked as I work on an inpatient ward that's just had a bedbug problem.

We found lots of little red spots of blood (largely on DH's sideHmm) on pur bedsheets. Neither of us have any bites we know about and there are no obvious bugs/faeces in or around the bed, but we have dark floorboards and ancient skirting.

I'm trying to tell myself it could be anything. We do have cats so maybe fleas? I saw a bedbug trap on amazon.. maybe I should try that before calling pest control and hyperventilating?

Bed bugs usually hide in the sewn piping around the matress so have a look and see of there are any hiding. Also they usually bite in a line, you would know if you had been bitten though so hopefully false alarm. I used to work at a backpackers hostel in Australia and people used to bring them into the hostel in their luggage from dive boats and other hostels.

We had them in our last house - possibly from old books. Or our neighbours returning from the states (they lived in the flat below) and used to visit us a lot.

Anyway, not everyone was affected by the bites - only dh had reactions

SORry, hit post by accident trying to close that annoying purple bar!

Anyway, after a few days I managed to find one first thing in the morning, hiding behind a picture on the wall (they were in DS’s room). First thing was the best time to check as they had recently fed.

I got pest control in.

Luckily because we tumble dried our clothes anyway and dirty clothes in the bathroom, I think we kept the infestation down.
