What's the best cordless hoover?

Just that really, I want something that can do the house and car with that actually works. We have a small handheld Dyson (quite old now) and it picks up nothing!

We have a cordless Shark and it’s amazing, I far prefer it to the Dyson we had before it.

I never use our corded vacuum now as the Shark has such great suction, and it’s fab on both carpet & hard floors.

I picked up my new shark duo clean yesterday, it is awesome, light, easy to use, much more powerful than my old corded dyson.
After months of research and indecision I am very happy with it.

looks great but have just seen the price of the shark duo , disappointed its so £££

Dyson V6 is fantastic

Mumek · 31/12/2017 10:22

Also a Dyson V6 fan, best vacuum I have ever used.

We’re considering replacing our old cordless Dyson as the battery life is getting worse, the Sharks are rated much worse on Which than Dyson or Bosch, mainly due to poor pick-up from carpets and only average filtration. Think we’ll be sticking with Dyson.

I have had a Shark for 6 weeks now, bought as a replacement for my Dyson cordless. I think the Shark is much much better.

I also had a corded Dyson which I replaced with a Sebo Felix. Again, the Sebo is much better.

Until recently I'd had nothing but Dyson's for the past 20 years, but I can't see me ever buying one again.

I find the Shark much better on carpet than the Dyson.

Howdidthathappen1 · 31/12/2017 18:07

I've just sent a shark duo clean 2 weeks after receipt. Hilariously it became totally clogged with dog hair (short haired not very moulty dog) and customer service said it wasn't designed to cope with anything other than light vacuuming.
I used it every other day on clean (to the eye) floors and it lasted 10 days!!
They've accepted back with no quibble though.
Now I'm stuck what to try

I love my Dyson V8 cordless - it has been used pretty much daily since I bought it at the end of August. We have a black lab, live in the sticks and so DH/DC traipse in a good amount of mud and crud daily.
It handles sucking up quite a bit of lego, the odd Nerf bullet chokes it, but easy to pull out.
Hoping the battery stays - I rarely run out of charge (usually one of the kids has been using it on max power before me)

DubaiismyBlackpool · 03/01/2018 15:54

I’ve just ordered a Goblin cordless from Asda. For £40 I’m happy to give it a try.

I hate my dyson - battery lasts for 20 mins. If you want to do a decent hoover once a week rather than a room a day, think carefully about whether a 20 min charge would do that. I hate mine with a passion.
