Anyone else got a massive list of things to do that they keep putting off?

Because I do and some of the jobs I'm talking being put off for years :( I'm so bad for procrastinating and putting things off until tomorrow so I'm going to make a list here and in my week off next week I'm going to try and get as much done as possible, or at least pick a few things to do per day.

Today I've got the Christmas decs down and tidied away, and sorted out the enormous (Blush) clothes mountain in the spare room of clean clothes.

I still need to get my dogs out, take the washing upstairs and sort out some stuffed bones for the dogs to be frozen. Oh and do some training with the little dog.

Other jobs that have been put off for varying amounts of time:

Hallway

  • sort out the hall cupboard and declutter
  • put up hooks in the hallway and buy a radiator cover
  • put pictures back up now hallway is decorated (it was finished about 3 months ago Blush)

Kitchen

  • sort out kitchen 'tip' drawers that are stuffed with crap.
  • wipe out and clean the kitchen cupboards
  • clean fridge
  • sort the mountains of cake decorating stuff I have to see if any is useful

Front room

  • clean picture rails (oh god they're so bad)
  • sort through storage containers again filled with random stuff
  • take some books upstairs to spare room
  • buy some new fairy lights

Bedroom

  • change bed on the 1st
  • sort out wardrobe and send clothes to charity
  • sort out drawers

Bathroom

  • do the bleach and bicarb trick I've just read about on here to try and sort the tiles

Okay so I'm sure I'll think of more but that will do for now. So rest of my list for today, before I can sit down and do my little hobbie as a reward, are:

  • put washing away x 2
  • walk the dogs
  • stuff bones with meat and freeze for the dogs
  • take the bin out and recycling
  • do some training with little dogs.

Achieved today:

  • Christmas decs down
  • tidied front room
  • clothes mountain

I can do this!! Anyone else need a list to get them moving?

I haven't even thought about making some form of tea actuallynso that'll need to be on the list.

On the plus side, bones are done, washing is out of the machine and drying, next load is in and I even baby wiped the stair banister on the way upstairs as it was looking grubby. Multitasking!

Now to walk the dogs.

Oh god and my car badly needs cleaning. Add that to the list.

Yes I need to feed the children somehow.
Can you take car to car wash and tidy rubbish into a carrier bag while you're in there? That's what we do, while playing car wash on the cd player

I have so much to do. I find I am always in the kitchen and doing laundry and then forget other rooms. Our bedroom is a tip and I go to bed thinking ffs; forgot to sort this out again!!!
Or people demand my time on the days I want to get on with things. I find it hard to say no and then the whole day is gone. Sad

Im tired but following for inspiration

At least you have reasons thinking, I have come to the conclusion that I am just so lazy and it's not a nice quality to have at all.

I've been productive. Dogs walked, rubbish and recycling sorted and taken out, second load of washing taken out and put upstairs to dry and third load put in. Hallway and lounge hoovered and washing up in the kitchen done. Sounds ridiculous but it's a lot more than I'd normally do.

Tomorrow OH is off work so I'm thinking nip into town and get the radiator cover, and sort out the hallway cupboard.

Oh god, me too. On the plus side I sorted out the kids toys. I tried this before Christmas and they refused to see anything go, but it’s a lot easier now they’ve got new stuff & feel less attached to the old. A lot of it was quite bulky pre- toys, big play-kitchen etc, so suddenly we have so much more space, and it’s inspiring me to do more sorting!

I could have written this post. Halfway through a fortnights holiday and have achieved practically zero

lljkk · 31/12/2017 08:25

Me me me... :)
It's not really important if you can put it off for years, though, is it?

Afreshnewyearplease · 31/12/2017 08:27

I cant even be arsed to list what i have to do let alone do it!

mogloveseggs · 31/12/2017 08:30

Me. Upstairs is ok (apart from the bathroom) but downstairs is a mess! Doesn’t help that I’ve worked all through Christmas too. Gonna do some tonight.
