how do I clean a kitchen floor with bleach?

I never use bleach to clean it, usually use Flash or some Oxysomething but last night there was a stain on it so I left a bit of bleach on it after scrubbing at it in desperation and came back to it in half an hour

it was gone but also it was very very white compared to the rest of the floor (it is speckly white with grey bits) i.e. it was really a lot cleaner than before

this has got me to thinking that the rest of the floor probably needs a better clean every so long with bleach or something (even though I do clean it a couple of times a week maybe that's what it needs)

but how do you do this? I hate the smell of bleach. Surely I can't just pour neat bleach on it and leave it for half an hour?

am bleach virgin please help

I was advised by the guy who fitted our kitchen floor (lino) never to use bleach as it takes the colour out. I must admit to using diluted bleach on occasions - mainly after dog or children had been sick on the floor - for peace of mind hygiene reasons.

I would not use neat bleach though...

it didn't take the colour out it took the dirt out, it has kind of an embossed effect with bits in, it is now the same colour as underneath the table

I just want to know how to make the rest of the floor that clean. Have suspected for ages that it wasn't as white as it started off but this is confirmation. I am sure someone on here was once talking about using bleach-based cleaner on their floor

I may have to go to Tescos and wander the cleaning aisles if no-one knows
