Nail polish on carpet

My toddler pulled my bag of nail polishes out of the wardrobe before, cracking the neck of one. And of course, it's the darkest one possible. I've blotted as much as I can of it out, and dabbed it with some nail polish remover, but there's still an ominous dark stain. Can anything be done?!

Trim the carpet? Just take the top bits off?

Buy a rug? Or rearrange the furniture?

Oh god, it's not fixable then. Thanks anyway!

Wet it and apply a shit-tonne of hairspray. Work in with nail brush, mop up with kitchen roll, repeat.

My dd did this with scarlet polish on a cream carpet. Hadn't dried though. It is now the cleanest bit of carpet in her room...

I had this. Red on cream Carpet.
I got a pair of tweezers and took out the offending bits. Nail polish remover is the worst thing you can put on it.

I got rid of the rest with bleach and a toothbrush

I had dark purple nail varnish on my beige carpet. Yes, a two year old was responsible!!

I went straight to the hard stuff, and tipped some acetone on it. My theory being if it wrecked the carpet I was no worse off than I already was. It was literally right in the middle of the room, on a 30 foot length of carpet.

It worked. It took the nail varnish out (lots of blotting with kitchen roll) and didn’t damage the carpet at all.

Maybe test on a patch under the sofa first.... 😆
