I have a 5 bedroom house and I'm fortunate enough to have a cleaner who comes twice a week for an hour a time.
It helps but it's not enough and I'm still struggling!
Trouble is the house is a mess with clutter and toys so all that needs sorting before it can be properly cleaned.
I did the living room recently and it took a few hours sorting everything just one room.
My cleaner is fully booked so can't do any more.
I could do with someone else really to help with sorting toys, washing etc.
What do mumsnetters advise?
I don't work but I have part time caring commitments and 2 young children so time to myself is limited. thanks

Can you find someone to help you get rid of clutter rather than just sorting it each time the cleaner is due to visit? Might be worth employing a decluttering person? If not google Marie Kondo - she recommends decluttering by category (items) rather then by room. Doing it by category means with limited time you could for example declutter "tops" or "coats" within small time available chunks.

I went through (90%) of the process about 4 years ago and life is so much easier.
