How can I stop the rug moving on new carpet?

I've just had a new carpet put down in my bedroom and the rug I've put on top keeps moving and wrinkling up. I've seen some grips advertised to stop this but I'm worried it could damage my new carpet. Does anyone have any suggestions to help this?

Go to John Lewis and buy one of their underlays for rugs. They're not cheap and I grumbled about having to buy one for the big rug in the front room but they are brilliant. The rug has never moved since.

Get a training book and teach it the 'stay' command !!

I second the John Lewis things - called 'rug hold underlay'. They work for carpeted floors and wood/laminate (the underlay is double-sided for different floor types - dead simple instructions). It comes in various sizes and can be trimmed to fit.

Ikea sell the rug underlay stuff too: it’s in a roll in the rug department.
