Do we have fleas/bedbugs?

DH, Ds2 and me are getting bitten by something. Mainly on our legs, especially those two, and one are mostly on my thighs. Been going on for weeks.
We have a cat, no sign of fleas on him and he's regularly treated. We have flea sprayed the house several times and are hoovering most days.
Recent,y 2 of my work colleagues have had bites too so we've all been treated this week for scabies!DD now has a few bites.
What the heck are they? I have searched the house and the beds, washed all bedding, can't see any actual bugs except for one little beetle ?flea tonight.
Help!!

Can you pin down what time of day you are getting bitten?

Feels like evening. I feel like my skin's crawling! Only getting 1 or 2 a day, Ds2 seems to be the worst

So unlikely to be bedbugs then or you'd be waking up with them. So where is ds2 spending more time than you?

We had bedbugs in the summer, it was awful (but they are gone now - we got a thermal remediation treatment where they blast your home with heat and it kills them). Get a professional exterminator to come and do a canine check - there are dogs trained to sniff them out, apparently bed bugs smell sweet. If only for peace of mind. I got them to come twice - once before and once after the treatment as I was still scared we still had them and scratching (we didn’t but there’s a big psychological element when you’ve had them!). We only found one bug when we looked ourselves before the exterminator came round and found more. Are there round small dark stain spots on your bedding? That is a telltale sign.

Ds2 and DH play in the garden, I only go out occasionally.
He's rung prokill today, they reckon it sounds like fleas and are coming to have a look next week.
I just think we would have found some evidence if it was fleas?
I understand the psychological element, I itch so much 😟
