Cockroaches - help!

Has anyone had to deal with cockroaches before? We are a super clean household but unfortunately our cleaner has introduced cockroaches into our home (completely accidental of course). Just found one running about in my pantry Confused. Will obviously throw away any opened packets of food etc but what about those that are still sealed? Would you chuck away everything (assuming the roache/s have walked all over them)? Can't disinfect cardboard boxes.... So upset, my kids advent calendars were in there. Would you chuck them in the bin? Not feeling v rational atm!

If it helps I think I read they are in same animal Family as prawns so
You can cook and eat them if tHingis get out of hand 😀

Contact a pest control firm. They will properly advise you how to deal with them. How has the cleaner introduced them? Are you sure that is how they come to be there?

We inadvertently moved into a house with them and had to get past control in. There's no choice. It took a few months but it was a particularly bad infestation.
