Vacuum help, please!

Hi all,

I'm hoping to settle the purchase of my first flat on Friday - very excited!

I have a few essentials I need before I move in and one if those items is a vacuum. I've been looking at various sites but am SO indecisive.

Can anyone recommend a decent vacuum?!

It's a one bed flat with carpet in bedroom and hardwood or tiles in the other rooms. I work full time and my boyfriend stays a couple of times a week. So, I don't need anything heavy duty but I've been really frustrated by the crappy vacuums I've had in rented flats which don't pick up well enough.

I don't want to spend more than £200 but the cheaper, the better.

Thanks in advance!

I like the Miele cylinder vacuums; doesn't really matter on the model I find it's a great make.

I recommend this. I absolutely love ours, despite not wanting one in the first place. Perfect if you’ve no stairs.

I have a Sebo X4 it is amazing on carpet and wood floor as the height adjusts. It takes bags but I open the bottom of them, empty and then staple back together once or twice before replacing.

I have also heard very good things about Shark hoovers.
