Stain removal

I have a very nice heavy cotton white sweater. I got some make up round the neck, so I sprayed it with some of that stuff you put on just before you wash the garment. Unfortunately, I got distracted, forgot all about it and left it for ages. It went pink, washing didn't remove it, judicial bleaching didn't work either. Help! Is there anything I can do apart from dyeing the sweater?

If bleach hasn’t worked I don’t know what will? I normally go for white soap on anything and everything but can’t see it shifting stains that bleach won’t touch?

The stain remover probably made it go pink. I would try non-chlorine bleach but not be too optimistic.

ooh. had a google and here's a suggestion.
Soak in water with soda crystals dissolved in. Leave overnight then look if is any better. If it is, wash as normal and dry outside.

Thanks for your replies. I will definitely try the soda crystals idea, nothing to lose.
