I set my alarm for 5 this morning so I could get up and do a couple of hours housework before the kids woke up. House isn’t messy as I keep on top of the clutter but needed a clean as my hands are tied for most of the day with a 4 month old.

Anyway, 2 hours later and it barely looks any different. Admittedly I did use my time to empty the dishwasher and sterilise bottles so they are invisible jobs... I go back to work in January and DH and I have spoken about getting a cleaner a couple of hours a week but now I think that won’t be enough!

Cleaners, what can you get done in 2 hours?!

I used to do cleaning. I did 5 bed houses in 2 hours. That would be hoovering and dusting throughout, cleaning all bathrooms, mopping floors, changing at least one bed and cleaning the kitchen (wiping all cupboards etc) I never had to do a great deal of tidying as the houses i did were all pretty tidy.

I've done quite a lot of cleaning in my time! I usually start upstairs and work my way to the kitchen last. Although will be soaking dishes whilst cleaning up stairs. The 1st thing I do in each room is empty bins as that can be messy. I then clear away all clutter and wipe down surfaces, followed by vacuuming last. One tip I have for you is to take a bucket around the house with you for all the things that you find so when your in each room and you find clutter just bang it in there rather than trying to find a home for everything – think that can take the longest.
