Kids clothes and stains

I’m not sure whether this is an issue with my washing machine or me! I am finding
that my kids clothes are not coming out of the washing machine stain free. I’m washing at 40 degrees with biological washing powder and Napisan or vanish stain removers added. Good stains and poo stains on vests etc are fainter but still visible after washing.

Is this something I’m doing wrong or is my washing machine knackered?

Sunlight is a wonderful pop stain remedy. It's incredible. Although slightly harder to come by at this time of year and I don't know whether heat is required also
