What tog quilt are you using at the moment?

Just wanting a nosey in regards to what tog quilt is the norm for winter. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m partial to a bit of extra warmth .... I just clipped the second part of my down & feather quilt together today resulting in 13 tog. If it gets any colder I may have to get my electric under blanket out too. People think that I’m nuts for requiring this level of warmth ( house is a new house, so it’s not a cold house ) No central heating on overnight. Just wanted to compare to others to see if I am a moany cold arse.

Mine’s 13.5 tog but I’m also wearing cosy pj’s and thick socks and pretty much sleeping on top of dp Blush
Think I might need to get the extra blankets out soon too.

dementedpixie · 29/10/2017 22:03

I'm too hot in the 10.5tog one. Kids still Have their 4.5 tog ones and ds has also been using the fan. We're in bloody Scotland too!

Twoevils · 29/10/2017 22:04

9 tog, and I'm still roasting by morning. DH has 2 blankets on top though!

8yo DS still has his summer 4 tog on, and even then still frequently strips down to pants. He runs hot I think!

StatueInTheSky · 29/10/2017 22:04

I've only got the summer one on atm, but have been noticing that I am sleeping poorly so it is probably not warm enough
I do have a couple of extra layers....a sheet, and a lightweight quilted cover AND a heavyish throw at th efoot of the bed, also it is a super king so plenty to snuggle in but I do like LOTS of covers and weight so I'll probably swap it when I strip the bed tomorrow.

Therealslimshady1 · 29/10/2017 22:05

4.5

BarbaraOcumbungles · 29/10/2017 22:06

15 tog all year round. I like the weight of it.

TeenagersandFurbabies · 29/10/2017 22:06

Mine's a 10.5 tog, I sleep in a strappy nightie and also have a window open. I'm in a new house so very well insulated.

TheFaerieQueene · 29/10/2017 22:07

4.5 tog. We don’t ever have anything higher on the bed and I still kick off the duvet most nights and just have the sheet over me.
I’m hot stuff Wink

Appuskidu · 29/10/2017 22:09

13.5 tog here and I'm still freezing!

MirandaWest · 29/10/2017 22:09

Ours is 4.5 tog. Have the same one all year round. DH and I don't sleep so well with higher tog duvets

poisonedbypen · 29/10/2017 22:09

4.5. Will probably change to the 10.5 in November some time. Have never had to clip the two together even in the coldest weather.

Etymology23 · 29/10/2017 22:09

9 tog with a blanket and sometimes electric blanket just to warm it up before I get in. I then get too hot overnight and kick the cover off! Anything less and I'm too cold to get to sleep!

Tiddlywinks63 · 29/10/2017 22:11

I changed from 9.5 tog to 13 tog yesterday and I'm baking!

LovingLola · 29/10/2017 22:11

4.5 tog. Have the window wide open too. DH complains it's like an ice box.

NannyR · 29/10/2017 22:11

I use my summer duvet (4.5 tog equivalent) all year round. I just layer up with one or two blankets on top on colder nights.
I would be really uncomfortable using a 13.5 tog.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 29/10/2017 22:13
  1. We will switch to 9 if there's a properly cold snap. We have had them as a popper-together pair for about 15 years but never, ever used both together. No overnight heating but our room stays fairly warm from it being on in the evening.
Ollivander84 · 29/10/2017 22:15

13.5, 2 blankets. Sleeping in pjs, socks and a thermal top. I think my internal thermostat is broken Confused

Redglitter · 29/10/2017 22:18

I've got a 1 tog duvet on. If it gets really really cold in the winter I might replace it with a 4. Though I haven't in recent years

flyingpigsinclover · 29/10/2017 22:25

10 tog very light down one though I usually push it off.

DubiousCredentials · 29/10/2017 22:26

4.5 all year round.

Sarahh2014 · 29/10/2017 22:28

15 tog Grin

lorelairoryemily · 29/10/2017 22:29

13.5 all year round and in the winter I add a really heavy bedspread

HoppityHopHop · 29/10/2017 22:41

10 tog and still have the fan on!

SleepingBooty · 29/10/2017 22:44

4.5 all year round unless it's really cold we might go up to 9.

Fairylea · 29/10/2017 22:46

13.5 tog.. I’m always cold!
