I have used one to clean my carpets. They are quite heavy but well worth a try, imho!
Certainly did an ace job on my carpets

I've used one as well. It's amazing the colour the water goes! heavy but manageable.

michaelad · 13/04/2007 13:18

Amazing isn't quite the word I would use

prettybird · 13/04/2007 15:25

OK then - shocking!

We used to hire one once a year to do the whole house and sofa with.Dh found it very easy to use and the results were very good. Was a bit heavy, but if you've got a sttrong man to do it for you,you shouldn' have a problem.

I want to get one before we move - Dh says we shouldn't waste the money, but I want to clean the setee too.

We used it before and it was very good

thing is I'm talking about me doing it, not dh!

he usually does it but is short of time, so I might have to attempt it!

thing is too I'm very short and not too strong - would I manage to do a good enough job do you think?

It's not that bad - like a very bulky, heavy vacuum cleaner.
Did it a few weeks ago and was pleased with results - and grimly fascinated by the colour of the dirty water.
