Furniture stinks!?

About 2 months ago I bought a second hand cuddle/swivel chair. The girl I bought it off was nice enough but her house was the type that had bare floorboards etc.. although she said she was decorating. It was only £60 vs £1000 new so I got it.
The thing is.. it stinks :-( it’s like a (not sounding awful) dirty house kind of smell. I’ve febreezed, sprayed with zoflora and tried vinegar spray but it’s still there. I’ve put throws over it and it’s better but still lingering. Any advice? X

Can you take the covers off, wash them
And sprinkle a LOT of bicarb on the cushions under the covers ? That works for us if then furniture needs to be seriously freshened up

I might be able to wash the main cushion cover you sit on - i’ll check! It’s one of those scatter back chairs and the cushions I’m using are my own so it’s not those that smell. So it it just normal bicarb of soda sprinkled all over it? xx

On a really cold, dry day leave it outside to air .
