Wooden floor cleaning

I have an oak floor that’s been treated and stained quite dark. I’ve never washed it, just swiffered it to get rid of dust. It’s in the living room and is in lovely condition, no stains or marks and looks spotless.

A friend visited recently and was ‘disgusted’ that I’d never mopped it or given it a deep clean in over 10 years. Am I disgusting? If so, what should I wash it with.

I wouldn't have had a carpet cleaned in that time, so I can't see the difference. If you don't wear shoes on it or drop food on it then it won't get dirty.
