Hoover Advice

So two nights ago my hoover decided to catch fire, it was a trusty hoover vacume that has lasted around 6 years.

I'm looking for advice on Hoover's that will stand up to a toddler, a husband who works in an outdoor type job and a small dog.

Also being light weight would a bonus.

Seem alot to ask from one house hold item but I'm sure all the wise people of mumsnet will be able to help.
