Football Boots

Please help!
My husbands new football boots have nearly caused us to divorce!! They have literally stunk our house out for 2 weeks now, the smell is the most powerful intense smell and it’s got everywhere! It smells like a damp smell. He’s washed them thoroughly and used special sports shoe odour eaters on them but nothing is working, he doesn’t even think the smell is that bad - it’s horrendous!

Any advice? He won’t send them back or leave them outside so I’m literally thinking the only way to resolve this is to LTB! Grin

Has he dried them properly? Maybe they need putting in a zip sealed bag with a decent amount of silica gel?

I think it's because these days they are made of plastic. They get cleaned straight away and then they are kept outside in the shed.

Gross football boot smell, I have to suffer three pairs. They live in the covered porch or in a box in the 'boot room'.

Hi op, my ds is 14 and has lots of football related footwear, all of which goes on a 1 hour " sports wash " in my washing machine! They come out fabulous.

I leave them to air dry which takes a day or two depending if I can put them outside but they're like brand new again.

I have 3 kids who have a couple of pairs each and i despair! They have that tom cat piss smell. Air dry, carrier bag in a box.

Wish theyd like proper leather ones but these plastic shite slipper like ones are the boots all go for.
