I think I prefer my dehumidifer to my tumble drier

I've shrunk so many things in my tumble drier that I've started to use it only for towels and bedding and hang everything up in the laundry room with the dehumidifier on.

Am I doing something wrong (with my tumble drier?)

What % humidity sinuous leave the dehumidifier set on when you leave it on constantly? Also, do you close all windows - I heard that otherwise you never get the humidity down as you are trying to dry out the whole outside world.
