Best way to clean wooden floors

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 09/10/2017 14:12

I've been a bit of a brat over the last few years and have used a steam mop on my wooden floors (a mix of pitch pine and oak) which I know isn't really recommended.

My steam mop has broken so I would appreciate if you could tell me how you clean your wooden floors. Is there any mop or steam mop or products that work well without causing damage?

TIA Smile

Hopeful bump for the evening crew.

Please can you advise?

I love method's squirty wood floor cleaner. Couple of squirts with that. Wipe over with a mop. Smells lovely.

That's a rubbish link that leads to the poster's shady old blog.

Well, it looks like steam could be the villain where wood is concerned, but it seems ok to use a tightly squeezed out mop?

I have heard of the almond cleaner in the link.

I use Bona products on my oiled wood floor, they do different cleaners for different types of floors. My floors get a lot of traffic and this has been a godsend as anything else stripped out the oil and left the floor sort of patchy looking. Seriously I’ve tried just about every product.

I use Method wooden floor cleaner with a damp micro fibre mop.
