Ok so please don’t remind me how stupid I am, I know that very well! But basically on Friday I --anilelated-- burnt some jacket potatoes in the microwave. It’s now Monday and the house still stinks. I’ve opened windows, boiled vinegar, burnt candles, sprayed febreeze.. nothing. Any tips?

Have you tried boiling lemon slices in water in a dish in the microwave? And cleaning the inside and outside of the microwave, plus all around it? Clean the kitchen windows too, wash any soft furnishings and towels the smell might be clinging to.

Thanks wowfudge, I've tried the lemon in water which has made the microwave itself smell sweeter but the smell seems to be hanging around the kitchen! I'll try cleaning the windows and curtains etc! Thank you x

The smells in my house always linger, but I’m too lazy to find out the source haha. I used to worry about it loads when people came round, stocked up so much on odour eliminators but it always ended up coming back after a few hours. But then I tried out this new brand called ‘it’s gone’ and it’s the best thing I’ve ever used. Never had anything it couldn’t get rid of, but I’m making fish tonight, so let’s see what it’s really made of Grin
