I only have basic sky package. But am thinking of stopping sky and getting a smart tv
Has anyone done the same. Would be interested what people think please Smile

A smart tv on it's own won't give you much in the way of additional content. You'll get catch up tv for regular channels (bbc iplayer etc) and some other bits and bobs. If you want meaningful content on a smart tv you'll need to pay for it. We've got 2 smart tvs in the house but when i upgraded the 3rd one I went for a dumb tv and amazon fire tv box. I find this a more flexible option that gives you a lot more apps to choose from and your not dependent on the tv manufacturer keeping the app suite up to date.

Agree -more flexible to get a non smart tv and use a plug in device eg fire stick, chromecast, now tv box etc to get the catch up apps.

Have you looked at the paid-for Now Tv to replace sky? So much cheaper!
