House smells of dog

We are buying a house which currently has a lovely dog in residence. Obviously this means the house smells of dog.
The whole house is laminate flooring apart from the stairs and landing.

Obviously current owner's soft furnishings will be going, so that will make a big difference.
But I was just wondering if anyone had any cleaning tips to get rid of the smell asap once we are in.

I've read about sprinkling baking soda on the carpet and leaving it over night to absorb the smell, so I'll try that.
Also got a carpet cleaner, which I'll use.
Then I just thought mopping all the flooring, but is there a particular disinfectant anyone knows is good for this job?

We bought a car that reeked of dog, it's the oils from the coat that get into things.

Once you have given it a good clean, try something like Simple Solution from Pets at Home, buy the big container and use a spray bottle for anything you can't wash or shampoo.

I have used it in the carpet shampooer in the past.

White vinegar in water as an alternative. Wash paint, floors etc. clean windows with it. I removed the smell of curry (greasy curry) from wood and kitchen units with vinegar and sugar soap (not together).

Thanks for replying I'll go to pets at home and get some. Thanks.

I did read your message hush. Annoyingly can't remember what you suggested...didn't think anything was wrong with your message either so I'm confused why it's been deleted.

We brought a house that stunk of dog. It was so embedded that we ended up ripping out all the carpets, laminate flooring and sugar soaping all the walls, floorboards and ceilings. It's genuinely put me off ever getting a dog.
