My son is on the verge of becoming really mobile. My house is a combination of tiles and solid wood flooring. Obviously I have a hoover and a mop and bucket but is there some handy lightweight daily thing I can just whip out? I do hate mopping with a bucket and hoovering is in snatched moments.

Steam mop

Do you mean a Swiffer? You can use it with a wet or dry cloth or with a disposable floor wipe. Amazon sell them.

A roomba?

I have an oxo goodgrips microfibre mop that you can just mop over the floor with after spraying cleaning stuff (or just water) on the floor.

I second the microfibre mop suggestion, works a treat! Just remember to mop in one direction only (same end of mop to front so dirt is picked up rather than spread around)

ahh a roomba

swiffer sounds v promising as does a microfibre mop! think that's what i had in mind. and a steam mop ...well I do say... that's one for when I get really germaphobic due to not having anything more important to worry about whilst on mat leave keen---- 😍
