mine are looking so crummy, and ive just finished painting the kitchen which looks really good apart from the storage heater. the heat thing puts me off as i think they get hotter than normal radiators.

I bought radiator covers for ours as the rooms never looked finished after we had decorated! They look nice now, you can get all sorts of designs, modern or more traditional.

You shouldn't cover them. It is clear in the instructions. I used radiator paint and it was fine.

Mine said not to cover unless you leave a gap around the sides, front and top, which i do. They don't lose any heat, they also don't make the cover hot at all and they look really nice. Actually the last cover i bought said suitable for storage heaters!!

I did a thread on this about 3 yrs ago in our old house we had these and i used gloss paint on mine as this is heat resistant to a very high temp - i turend them all off so they we're proper cold and then when painted them left them for 3 days to unsure they'd dried properly - they looked fab when done
