I have been gifted a lovely and very expensive velvet sofa. Unfortunately the owner let their dog slobber on the side cushions.
I can see from the frame that it should be a beautiful taupe velvet but with the slobber effect it just looks grubby.
I tried washing one cushion cover on the hand wash machine cycle (don't think it would survive anything harsher) but it is stiff as a board and not entirely clean. It isn't meant to be washed in the machine.
What next? Any ideas? I love to know of any inexpensive ways to clean it. I'd also pay for it to be cleaned but not sure how? If I dry clean the covers the base with stay the same as that part is fixed.
