I'm planning to hire a cleaner for a fortnightly clean of two hours, with myself and my partner alternating a similar weekly clean inbetween. Does this sound realistic for two hours once a fortnight?
The house is a 3-bed terrace, would be tidied, with all cleaning materials and tools put out beforehand. Only two of us live there, and 2 bedrooms go largely unused (currently).
Must dos:
*Vaccuum all floors
*Mop kitchen floor
Mop hallway/lounge laminate wood
*Clean kitchen sink, hob, surfaces
Wipe appliances in kitchen
*Clean bathroom - tiles, bath, loo, sink
*Clean dining table
Put on fresh bedding in Master (old stuff removed/new out already)
Then by rota or when we're away:
Dust/wipe conservatory surfaces
Dust/wipe lounge surfaces
Clean skirting boards
Clean windows
And occasionally switch normal cleaning duties for a deep clean of one of the major rooms in the house (kitchen, lounge, master, bathroom) - though tbh, I might bump up to a full day for that.
We have two cats, and I'd plan to ask for this on my work from home day so that I can make sure any messes they've made are cleaned up by me separately before they arrive. Inbetween my boyfriend and I would do the starred items on the first list as a minimum. 'Inside jobs' like fridge/microwave/oven just get done by us too.
I think I could get all of the first list done and at least one of the latter in two hours (bit hard to judge since we've recently moved in and I'm still tied up with furniture making etc - will all be complete before we engage one).
Also if anyone can recommend a cleaner in South Birmingham, I'd be very grateful. The only one I know is our office one, and she's a bit rubbish.
