Washed Ikea Hylle pillow and it disintegrated in washing machine - how to rescue machine?

Am cross about this as the first time I washed this pillow cover, it disintegrated all over my machine. I washed it carefully, on its own and only at 40 degrees (says it can take 60 degrees).

I had a white blobby mess over the whole drum and rubber seal which I wasted loads of wipes trying to remove. Having removed all visible mess, i put on an empty load to rinse out the machine. Thinking it was fine I washed some sports kit and now the football socks are covered in these fucking hair like pieces of crappy pillow filing and some of the white blobby stuff that's reappeared Angry. What can I do for my poor machine? I need to do loads of washing and cannot afford for clothing to get ruined.

The Ikea website says:
"The filling is held in place by the sewn channels in the cover, wash after wash." Bollocks Angry why do they sell such crappy stuff. The pillow was £20 fgs.
