Zoflora!

So I succumbed to the Mumsnet trend and bought my first pack of zoflora! I bought the fresh linen one because I like "clean" smells that aren't overpowering....and it is DISGUSTING! I'm sorry but I've never smelt anything so bad, I thought maybe it would improve in Water so I mopped my floor with it and my whole family hated it too, it's smells like really cheap cologne in my opinion. Anyway, the point is: Are they all like this? Are there any that have a subtle "clean" smell?

TIA😁

People on here seem to love them, but they all smell like disinfectant. Sometimes a floral disinfectant, sometimes a citrusy one, but all still very distinctively like disinfectant.

dementedpixie · 15/09/2017 21:37

I prefer twilight garden but just use it in the washing machine for sweaty gym kit

e1y1 · 15/09/2017 21:59

Yes, they're pretty much all like this. They're shite, headache inducing, not very good at cleaning little bottles of waste.

OrphanAccount · 15/09/2017 22:00

Most of them smell quite strong TBH. That's why some people like them.

KadabrasSpoon · 15/09/2017 22:03

Maybe dilute it more? Can't remember without looking at the packet but it needs to be quite diluted - something like 1/40 water

I find the floral ones too strong. Pink grapefruit is my current favourite

RosaDeZoett · 15/09/2017 22:07

I also succumbed, bought the linen one, an found it absolutely foul. It sort of smelled like heavy disinfectant with an under tone of puke. Totally gross. I tried the spring fresh (I think it was...) at the same time, it wasn't quite as disgusting as the linen. But I wouldn't bother again

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 15/09/2017 22:11

I too was sucked into the zoflora madness. They are all disgusting; chemical scents covering up a strong disinfect. Gross.

Ojoj1974 · 15/09/2017 22:13

I too bought white linen and seriously diluted it. I have had a number of comments about how lovely my kitchen smells.. I quite like it ..

BobbinThreadbare123 · 15/09/2017 22:18

I got one with flowers on the box. I like how the smell lasts and it doesn't make me sneeze like many household chemicals. Certainly good value for money!

BBTHREE76 · 15/09/2017 22:37

I love zoflora! Pink grapefruit is my favourite but I really don't like fresh linen. Zoflora is just like with all perfumes /deodorants / cleaning products - some are nicer than others, and we will all have different preferences.

Moonflower12 · 15/09/2017 22:40

I use the lavender one at work. Makes the room smell fresher after lots of smelly nappies! (A nursery)

Oncewaswho · 16/09/2017 00:03

Yep, I've tried about half a dozen of them and use them sparingly (a bottle lasts me several months) and they all smell rank. I wish they did an unfragranced version as it is a useful product.

Amee1992x · 16/09/2017 00:04

I prefer twilight garden & hello spring

wowfudge · 16/09/2017 08:51

I don't think they actually smell like disinfectant. The perfume doesn't last that long but I quite like some of them. Twilight Garden and Green Valley are okay. I only use a bit.

Elizabethan · 16/09/2017 15:31

Whatever you do don't try Hyacinth. I couldn't use it at all - and I like the linen one!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 17/09/2017 14:38

I used it purely in the washer for if something is ridiculously stinky. Usually trainers. It's pretty pointless for anything else. I had honeysuckle jasmine.

I don't have any left now, and I'm not sure I'll buy any more.

LEMtheoriginal · 17/09/2017 14:45

Zoflora is toxic to cats apparently

dementedpixie · 17/09/2017 14:48

It isn't if it has dried on the surface

It is horrible stuff, causes headaches and nausea in this house and is not good for allergies. There is an obsession for highly stinky stuff these days, Zoflora and those foul reed diffusers and vomit inducing Yankee candles. What is wrong with just being clean, no need to pollute the environment with all this crap?
