Our goose down duvet is probs around 10-12 years old and is getting a bit manky round the edges. It's gone through the menopause with me so am concerned all that heat might not have done the down much good.

I've looked into silk and am tempted but husband likes something he can snuggle into and wrap round himself. Both of us like something 'boofy' and flumpy and I am not sure silk would do this.

Anyway, we have bamboo pillows and they are lovely and squidgy - best we have had. Came across a bamboo duvet. Has anyone got one? I would go for down again but I am still quite sweaty at times (not buckets but enough to spend the time throwing covers on and off).

I love bedding.... Wise ones, give me your advice.

I ended up with wool which is divine not heard of bamboo! Although used bamboo cloth nappies.

I wouldn't get silk again - I hadn't thought about silk is harvested...

No idea about the duvets- but tell me more about bamboo pillows....?

Can't do wool as got husband a very expensive wool pillow. He liked it but even though all pillows have three pillow cases on, he stains them. I washed said pillow, as per instructions as it was a bit manly man smelly. The smell of wet sheep is something else! Even when fully dried it just ponged of sheep. I think it is now baaaaing gently in the spare room somewhere. Also weighed a ton. So no wool duvet because the lanolin pong would get to me.

Bamboo pillows are gorgeous. Squidgy, rather warm, I have to say, hold the shape. I have two for me. I love down pillows but they do 'go' after a while and the expensive ones are eyewateringly expensive, especially when husband gets through pillows after a while. These are much nicer than synthetic fillings but have those advantages - ant allergy, etc. I got mine from our small department store. Really recommend.
