How to remove black biro from white sofa-any ideas?

My ds has decided to write'hello' on our white sofa.
My mil will be pleased as she warned me that white sofa plus children was disaster.
Any ideas? -they are machine washable covers.

hairspray removes it off leather

baby wipes are good for most stuff. my top stain removal tip is car upholstry cleaner. spray leave 5 mins then baby wipe off.

Have used methylated spirits to remove biro stains before...

Try a proprietary brand of ink remover eg Stain Devil etc?
I know someone who swears by scrubbing stain with toothbrush + toothpaste before washing as normal

Ditto hairspray and baby wipes
