So I bought an ultrasound blaster and plugged it in, bought a couple of mousetraps, primed them with peanut butter - no mouse. No dead mouse in traps after 3 nights of using them. Have cleaned kitchen more than it's ever been cleaned in its live. No mouse. Dislodged huge spider and screamed for about 5 minutes and wished there was some gin handy but...
Torned out cupboards, cutlery drawer, looked behind fridge, no mouse. No mouseshit anywhere as far as I can see, and no nibbled biscuits, cereal, or shredded paper anywhere.

WHere IS the litte furry f**ker? Can I honestly hope it's gone away?

I've only seen our mouse once since I got an ultrasound blaster - and that was in the oven, so maybe it was trying to get away from the sound.

Word of warning - do remember to unplug the ulrasound thingy if you kindly agree to look after your daughter's friend' pet rats for the weekend... I didn't remember until they'd been here a whole day - wondered why they were so jumpy...
