Meile - is it really worth the money?

I am moving into a rented property next week who have kindly agreed to let me rent with my two pomeranians.

I obviously want to keep on top of the pet hair as much as possible as it is somebody else's properly and looking online it seems the Meile C2 cat and dog is the best vacuum going.

But It is very pricy... could really use that £250 elsewhere and get a vacuum for £50 but if it really is that amazing I will consider it Smile

I have the Miele cat and dog CX1 power line and I love it. It really is fab. The suction is amazing. It was over £300 when I bought it in Argos but I am hoping it lasts years which I believe is one of Miele's biggest selling points.

YellowLawn · 30/08/2017 20:35

it's great. esp if you have carpets.
but for around 100 you can get a cheaper model or a bosch one.

HooverHelp · 30/08/2017 20:36

Prior to the Miele I had a green Henry hound numatic with turbo head. It was £180 when I bought it 9 years ago. It was great as a pet vacuum but not a patch on the Miele.

Join shark addicts on Facebook they're much cheaper, I haven't used one I swear by my cat and dog Miele but I would be tempted if I needed a new one. My nan still has her very old Miele and it's still great

I looked at the Miele because I have other Miele white foods and they are ultra reliable.

However I bought a Shark on the advice of Which? and they're bloody brilliant, especially the headlights Grin

Bought a second one for my mum who loves hers too.

I'm a bit of a hoover addict (I have 4) and I suspect my next one for upstairs will be a shark.

Pombliboo123 · 31/08/2017 07:55

Ahhh okay so shark or meile?!

So shark do a pull along one (No storage room for an upright)

Miele all the way.

I've had

  • Dyson (older model which died terminally after 14 years sadly): was fabulous so resolved to get a new one
  • borrowed DMIL's new Dyson (2 years old): which sucked - or rather didn't and put me off them
  • Vax: regretted it instantly
  • Henry: bulky, decent suction but loud and awkward to use

I now have a Miele and I would not swap it. I do buy the generic bags via EBay and Amazon, but they work just as well.

Miele all the way. We had our Miele for 17 years. We eventually replaced it with a Shark due to the price difference but it is nowhere near as good. The Shark has a shorter lead, useless tools and doesn't seem to have the suction it had when new. The headlights are great though and I like the fact it's bagless as Miele bags are expensive. Miele was quality all over and was good on all surfaces. Ours was very heavy though. Not sure how much they weigh now.

HooverHelp · 31/08/2017 09:49

My Miele is bagless! I love it. So easy to empty and rinse out.

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 31/08/2017 09:55

Cat and dog is bagless. It's so much better for rescuing crucial Lego bricks.

Pancakeflipper · 31/08/2017 09:57

Miele or Sebo.

Fork2fork · 31/08/2017 12:59

Miele C2 is half price at Argos at the moment £129.99

Pombliboo123 · 31/08/2017 13:34

@Fork2fork

AMAZING. Purchased!!!! Thank you so much

Yeah, so glad you managed to get one. Enjoy 🙂

HooverHelp · 31/08/2017 15:19

Wow! I'm so jealous of that price!! I feel pretty confident saying you will love it!
