Decluttering / hoarding

Ok, so it's summer and I have four young kids. I'm a bit of a hoarder ( my dad was, I've had therapy, cbt).
The therapy was great but it's summer and impossible to carry on with kids at home.
Anyway MIL has made a rare visit and offered to help me sort out when the kids go back to school. I accepted, then she addded 'you must agree I can get rid of anything I want to' so I refused that.

She wouldn't accept it If i said 'can I come into your space and throw away whatever I like?'

Offer of help sorting was retracted on the spot! She said she's not sure of next rare visit.

Would anyone take up that offer? If she wanted to throw out something she thought was old ugly tat it could be my dead fathers? Or throw out my favourite childhood bear as it's old tat to her? I'd need therapy again!
I so need help to get going again but it's a form of mental health issue, which dispite all the FB sharing of 'mental health is nothing to be ashamed of ' by mil et al - people are still disgusted by. Maybe if I had a more socially acceptable MH issue I'd get some understanding!
Anyway, I'm off to the dump soon, on my Tod, wish me luck!
