why won't the softener drain from the drawer?

Just that really! After every wash, the fabric softener section of the drawer is filled to the brim with softener & water than has run in but won't drain out. No issues with the powder section. Have removed and cleaned numerous times but it makes no difference.

I've stopped using softener now and I'm fed up with crispy clothes!! Help!

Do you have a dishwasher? If so try putting the detergent drawer of the washing machine in the dishwasher for a proper clean after soaking it in soda crystals and hot water in a bowl/sink/the bath to soften any gunk.

Also run a cycle with soda crystals in to clean any gunk in the machine, I try and use a spoonful with every wash, it's great stuff.

Take your powder drawer out completely, if you look above where the fabric conditioner compartment would go there will be a tiny hole. That hole gets blocked with powder and gunk, get a cocktail stick or similar and poke about and a plug of crap will come out. Once it's gone replace powder drawer and all will be well Smile

When you take drawer out, have you cleaned the inside of the machine too? Sometimes the holes that the water comes out of get bunged up.

Runningyogabooze · 29/08/2017 08:37

Def sounds like something is bunged up somewhere. I gave up using softener because of this.

Good advice from PP to stick the drawer in the machine, and from another PP saying see if you can feel any other bunged up bits in pipes once you've taken out the drawer b

right, dishwasher it is, I'll pick up some crystals in Sainsbo later and then I'll find my cocktail sticks. 3 pronged attack!

Honestly just unblocking that hole will do the trick, this happens to my washer every few months so I'm well versed Smile
