Does anyone have a Lampe Berger or Ashleigh and Burwood fragrance lamp?

Do they work? Are they worth the money? We have a dog but I would love my house to smell lovely. Keep it clean, groom the dog etc but there is sometimes still a whiff! Tried diffusers, normal candles etc which mask the smell but I believe these catalytic (?) lamps actually destroy the odour rather than masking. Is this true? If so, which fragrances would you recommend?

I have one. I don't think they destroy any odours but it's cheaper than buying wax tarts and I think the fragrances are slightly stronger smelling. The only problem I've found is that the stone wick things need replacing fairly frequently.

We were were given one as a wedding present 10 years ago. I have to confess I've never used it and it's still in its original packaging.

I've lost the instructions and can't remember anything about them. Do I fill it with oil? (Sorry OP .... But your thread just reminded me!)

You fill it with the fragrance oils then leave the wick on with the closed cap on for about 30 min (only do this when the wick is dry and no oil in). Then light it and let it burn for a min. Blow it out and it should smell. When you've finished put the closed cap on.

DP's uncle has a lampe bergere. He smokes casually but regularly and his house only ever smells of lovely things - he attributes it to the LB.

Thanks everyone - I'll give it a go I think.
