What's on your spare bed when not in use?

I don't like the idea of it getting all dusty if left uncovered when not in use, but bedspreads seem so 80s to me. Suggestions please?

Oh, I thought this was an area to confess to what junk gets piled up there.....

I'll get my coat Blush

bananafanana1 · 26/08/2017 15:08

Lol backforgood me too. I have a big multicoloured throw I got from Marrakesh on mine, mainly so the cat doesn't get fluff everywhere. Other than that it's usually littered with holiday clothes Grin

Marmite27 · 26/08/2017 15:12

DH chucks a load of junk in there and it drives me to distraction

squadronleader87 · 26/08/2017 15:15

Haha, I came here thinking the same as backforgood

Mine is usually always made up, sometimes with a pile of clean laundry on top.

Me too!! Grin

I'll post anyway. A ladder, a bag for life filled with Christmas ornaments, a bag of clothes for the charity shop. Possibly a cat.

DS (3) called our spare room the "cloak room" this week - I think that tells you all you need to know!

TizzyDongue · 26/08/2017 15:20

The cat usually.

OMGBecky · 26/08/2017 15:22

A pile of unfolded clean laundry...hopefully they are protecting it from the dust when not in use! Grin

NoParticularPattern · 26/08/2017 15:22

I don't have anything on ours. We just make the bed up and shake it all out/hoover as appropriate when we have guests over. I do have a tendency to leave clothes on a couple of them though- usually when I've been looking through the wardrobe for something that fits!

BackforGood · 26/08/2017 15:24

Phew. Glad it's not just me.

Ttbb · 26/08/2017 15:40

I didn't think of the dust...be we use ours quite regularly so I guess it's not that much if a problem.

Bubblysqueak · 26/08/2017 15:41

A mountain of washing ready to be put away or ironed Blush

bananafanana1 · 26/08/2017 16:16

And it's a pain in the ass when someone comes to stay and you have to find homes for all the shite you have accumulated there!! Grin

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 27/08/2017 13:03
Grin Mine's only clear because a friend has just gone home after a week's stay! Some school uniform that needs name tags, a laptop cable, a random bit of artwork and a few bits of paperwork have accumulated in the last 24 hours! I'd just like it if they were on top of something pretty instead of the mattress protector Blush

Serf I like that art deco one, lovely.

Normally, folded laundry.

As the end of the year gets closer, Christmas decorations and unwrapped gifts.

When it's completely clear ... a bouncing autistic 8yo.

carrotcakecupcake · 27/08/2017 14:38

The top carrier off the car (apart from the odd week that we use it). We really didn't think through where we were going to store it when we bought it!
Underneath that I have a bedspread Grin

penstemon · 27/08/2017 20:06

We have a bedspread on our spare bed. It is basically a protective layer between the made up bed and whatever crap I need to pile on top of it.

Tiddlywinks63 · 27/08/2017 20:12

One spare bed is made up ready for this week's visitors, the other is hidden under DD's belongings awaiting her eventual move into her house 🙂
