Washing machine filter won't unscrew

I tried to unscrew it the other day and it won't unscrew. Now, we have had our washing machine for about 10 months and never cleaned out the filter, so I don't know if there is a manufacturing error, or if something has got stuck against the thread of the filter (eg a collar stay).

I suspect I will need to get someone round to take apart the machine so we can get to the filter from t'other side. Does anyone know how I could do thins myself?

TIA

If somehing won't unscrew try to do it up first and then try to unscrew. Mad as it sounds it does work.

Thanks Cece. We tried that that but no joy.
Any other suggestions, anyone?

If that dos'nt work try a little squirt of WD40, let in soak in for 10 mins, then try and unscrew it, you might need to wear rubber gloves to get a purchase on it as the WD will make it a tad slippy, good luck

...still no luck. I think that it is stuck because something is jammed against it from the inside.
