Washing machines

I am looking to buy a new washing machine. Old one has been great but is too small, I do loads of loads. I have chosen one based on using it at a friends recently. I have found the previous model still for sale at a greatly reduced price, but should I get the more recent model. Surely the slightly older model is still a good machine, or will the newer model have ironed out any niggles from the previous one. We are talking about a £200 price difference. Thoughts?

Depends on the brand. Remember lots of brands have been bought out by other brands so aren't the same anymore. Quality has gone down with a lot of appliances.

Hi Rabbit, it is a whirlpool. I have always had Bosch before but read that they have gone downhill. Thanks for commenting.

I've never used a Whirlpool.
Bosch are still good, just not their very budget machines as they're outsourced so aren't even made by Bosch. But the mid-high range are good.

Ahhh I was told yesterday that Bosch was now lower mid range. But my last machine was pricey and the higher priced ones still have some quite good looking functions and capabilities. Do I stick with what I know. Hmmmmm
