Can I clean my shower with pickling vinegar?

Just that really. I was advised by the manufacturer of my shower to clean it with white vinegar. Sent DH to get some and he came back with a gigantic jar of the pickling stuff . Does anyone know if it will be OK, other than making my bathroom smell like a pickled onion factory?

Well it will probably be fine.

For future reference though you can buy window cleaning stuff with white vinegar in it fairly cheaply in spray bottles which will probably do the same job

Doesn't pickling vinegar have spices in it? Might make things interesting though!

Vinegar is vinegar.

It's the acid that helps break down the nasties like limescale and soapscum.

I've only used the other kind but i imagine the science behind it is the same, I wonder if it will smell more though?
