Moving House - advance declutter

Any tips please?

We are hoping to sell and move soonish. I have made a start on de-cluttering some rooms but it's tough.

Plan for today is to purchase the vacuum storage bags to minimise the bedding piles.

It all feels so overwhelming!

I am in the exact same position
I just started doing a little bit every day
(When my little boy naps)
So each day I go through a cupboard or drawer and I am being absolutely ruthless
Getting rid of anything we don't actually use or really can't part with!
I've got rid of loads of clothes so far!
It deffo feels overwhelming but my attitude is just little by little!

If you haven't used it in the last 3 years, chuck it. I have found that lots of stuff can go in my recycling: paperback books in with paper recycling, clothes in a separate carrier bag, and so forth which saves time lugging things to a charity shop. 15 minute bursts of activity seem to work well for me.

Think about what's important to keep, what do you actually love and need. Everything else can go. It's a lovely feeling when you've decluttered and don't have too much 'stuff'. Keep visualising what you want each room to look and feel like. You can get rid of anything that detracts from that image you have in your mind's eye.

I'll be starting on Monday, we moved in January but seem to have accumulated a lot since! And I probably wasn't as ruthless as I'd hoped the first time around.
