New to having a cleaner!

Hello

I've just hired a cleaner for 2 hours a week at £12.50 an hour and we provide cleaning materials. We pay cash. She was recommended by a friend but I was just wondering if she should hold any sort of special insurance or would any damage/breakages be covered under our house insurance?

Doesn't she have Public Liability Insurance? Any good cleaner who takes her work seriously would, I think?

I stongly suggest she has it as I know of someone whose cleaner leaked an entire bottle of bleach on a week-old carpet for which the insurance paid out £2k.

I don't know of any cleaners that don't have it & I'm in the industry. It's for her protection as well as yours.

Hi Overworrier, I didn't ask about insurance but will next time I see her.
