Board Games - how and where do you store them?

Currently having the obligatory sort out of the DC rooms. They don't have a huge amount of board games especially now I've been to the charity shop. It would be nice to keep the few we have downstairs but am clueless. Where do you keep yours?

On their side, on a bookcase. They look quite good there, we have quite a few so they take up most of 2 shelves.

Inside a black leather storage box that masquerades as a pouffe - but it's crammed full so I'm going to have to make a new plan after DS's birthday...

On top of the wardrobe - not ideal as they get very dusty up there!

In the side board in the dining room, I moved them there as it's where we tend to get them out, it's worked well.

On the top of the bookcases in our spare room. Before that we kept them in a chest of drawers.

Would depend how often you play them as to where you put them and how easy the children can reach them.

In the sideboard in the living room. They were out on a bookcase until DS1 was left unattended and scattered scrabble letters throughout every room in the house.

We have some bookshelves that are fixed to the wall, in one room, they live on the floor under the lowest shelf, about four deep.

In a chester draws. Grin
Really on a shelf in dining room, all the other games on there too.
All look neat and tidy, but homely.

In a big hip-height cupboard downstairs, so ds can get to them. We don't have an awful lot as he is 5yo, but the jigsaws are there too and I can close the door and hide them away. Ugly bloody things!

I like the 'like books on a bookcase' idea (steals...).

Cupboard under the windowseat in lounge.

Ikea kallax unit used as both a book case and board games storage

molemonkey · 09/08/2017 22:10

The favourite ones on top of the book case in the front room and the less used ones on top of ds2's wardrobe.

Thank you everyone for the replies so far. I've removed a shelf of books in the living room and put some there. Now I just have to deal with the youngest' constant requests to p,at them with her...Smile
