Our house is tiny and there is stuff everywhere. I need help! Anyone know any good websites to get storage ideas? Please....?

We replaced our single row of coathooks behind the front door with a big tongue and groove board with 12 hooks on it in 3 rows (I asked for 4 rows, may add them later) and a shelf above it for the cycle helmets. It takes all the coats, bags, pe kit bags, waiting for the charity shop bags. I adore it.

Thanks for all the ideas, I have made a start today by reorganising the utility room. It feels better already and that's before we get some proper shelves up in there!

Dh is now referring to my plans as shelf-maggedon Grin He has also been dispatched up the attic with some boxes of stuff (I've been keeping things out of there for fear of mice but I haven't heard any for ages so it can take its chances) and has a load more stuff to put up tomorrow. And I've painted one wall of our bedroom (ok, not strictly speaking to do with storage but it's inspired me to start clearing there too) and have painted test patches on the alcove where the shelves are going. And have moved the wicker hamper upstairs, so now DSs rocking horse has its own paddock rather than a stall Grin

I am going to whip this house into shape if it kills me [determined face]

Our old house had stairs by the front door like yours OP and we had the bottom few treads with little doors in the vertical parts for children's shoes.

PickAChew · 10/08/2017 20:13

Our shoes live in a chest of drawers. The bottom drawer is double depth and fits loads in.

On pinterest i have a pin where someone has hooks for coats behind the door and pegs (more hooks could work) for shoes below the coats.

I love the little drawers under the stairs idea, but our stairs are so narrow and steep I don't think we could - and they have a bend. They're lethal Shock

We have a hanging shoe thingy on the back of the cupboard under the stairs door --and I have a supplementary shoe crate at the bottom of the wardrobe]

We're getting better hooks for the back entrance and I'm thinking of putting a shelf over the back door for bike helmets. I have to break all this to dh gently though or he might start to gibber Grin

Utility room??? Attic??? Space for a rocking horse??? That's not small! Hehe.
Sounds like amazing progress, I'm loving the wall painting-in-lieu-of-storage, I totally get that it's part of the same- operation lovely home!

Haha, it's a tiny rocking horse! Like a Shetland pony 😂
