what colour skirting boards with newly sanded light floor? Anyone?

Hi everyone - house looks like Pompeii but bedroon floorboards look good! The white skirting boards look really rough against them though and I'm not sure they'll look much better if I simply repaint them white.

I'm thinking of glossing them a darker colour but no idea what - Want some kind of light neutral walls and have red curtains.

Has anyone any suggestions please?

Will look much better if you do fresh coat of white.

i got fed up with white and painted mine a sort of coffee colour.

Or replace the skirting board with unpainted ones! Might costs about £60, but looks nice...

White or the dreaded magnolia, I reckon, unless you can strip and varnish them to match the floor. Dark won't look right I think. But I'm no Laurence Llewellyn Bowen (despite once coming out of a hairdressers looking like him - I could have killed the bitch!).

Sorry, that was uncalled for!

White and glossy, or replace with unpainted ones in a clear matt varnish.

thanks everyone - love the idea of replacing them with new because I loathe glossing and if nothing else I think I'll stick with white. That's really helpful ta
